ExifXplorer is a desktop application that runs entirely on your own Mac. It has no account system and sends none of your photos, metadata, or catalog anywhere.

What the app does on your device

Everything: reading and writing metadata, generating thumbnails, building the local catalog. The only time the app uses the network is to fetch map tiles and reverse-geocoding(turning coordinates into place names) from OpenStreetMap when you use the map, and to check for updates. Those requests contain no personal data beyond what any web request includes.

This website

The site uses privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics that record aggregate page views only — no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting, no personal profiles.

Purchases

Payments are processed by Paddle as the merchant of record. Paddle collects the billing information needed to complete your purchase and comply with tax law, under its own privacy policy. ExifXplorer receives only what's needed to issue and validate your licence.
